Jamie Foy doesn't waste motion. His skating is powerful, precise, and dialled — and the NB Numeric 306 he built with New Balance is exactly the same. This isn't a shoe designed by committee. It's a shoe designed around how one of the best skaters in the world actually skates.
The Rider
Jamie Foy went from Florida unknown to Thrasher Skater of the Year 2017 in what felt like a blink. He skates for Deathwish, and his part in the Baker Has A Deathwish video is the kind of thing you watch more than once. Foy's approach is technical without being mechanical — he'll thread a nosegrind down a rail and make it look like he was barely trying. His signature shoe needed to match that — functional, durable, unpretentious.
What Makes It
- Herringbone rubber outsole — NB Numeric's proven grip pattern, sticky on griptape and worn smooth at the right rate for board feel
- Abrasion-resistant suede upper — thick where it matters (toe, ollie zone), lighter on the sides to keep the shoe breathable
- Foam-padded collar and tongue — lockdown without restriction, holds your foot in place when you're stomping
- Cupsole construction — the 306 uses a cupsole build for impact protection on bigger landings
- Reinforced toecap — extra suede layering at the toe for extended wear life
- Classic runner silhouette — 80s New Balance running DNA translated into a modern skate shoe, clean and versatile off the board too
On the Board
The 306 is a shoe that rewards commitment. The cupsole soaks up impact and gives you that extra confidence going into bigger tricks — drops, stairs, heavy landings. It's not as razor-thin as a vulc setup, but you get solid board feel through the herringbone outsole, and the suede upper grips the griptape properly. Break-in is quick. The fit is snug through the midfoot with room in the toebox. Foy designed these to go hard, and they do.
